victory is indeed unique for General Buhari in the sense that it was his fourth shot at the presidency after suffering defeats in 2003, 2007, and 2011. Indeed you have proven to be a resilient, determined
and dogged fighter that stood his ground despite the previous setbacks you had suffered in the past in your bid to become a democratically elected president of our country.
So on behalf of every Nigerian, I say congratulations to you on success in the last presidential
election. I personally deduced that people got fed up of impunity and corruption ravaging the land since 1999 when the Peoples Democratic Party ascended the throne of leadership in the country. I know very well that you know the challenges facing the nation, the major problem of this country is corruption, corruption is the bane of the problems of Nigeria, corruption has become a norm in Nigeria, the country has become a laughing stock among the comity of nations. Many acts of
corruption have been perpetrated in the petroleum sector but it is a shame that many of them have been swept under the carpet, but in you, the people see a man capable of truncating the wave of corruption ravaging the land.
Again, I was appalled when I heard a documentary on BBC claiming that six(6) people out of every ten(10) people in Nigeria do not have access to electricity, in reality,it is the damn truth despite the large chunk of investment in the power sector, the nation has got nothing to show for the huge investment in the sector, as a nation we still generate below 5000 megawatts of electricity while a country like South Africa generates more than 40,000 megawatts, the poor power sector has contributed to the high unemployment in the country, even graduates have become Okada riders on the major streets in their bid for survival.
Also, poverty is very high as most people are struggling to survive due to high cost of living, Nigeria can be branded as a Nation that cannot feed herself due to the neglect of the agricultural sector since the discovery of oil in the country, in the past the economy of nation was centered around groundnut from the north and cocoa from the south, with cocoa, the late sage Chief Obafemi Awolowo was able to build monument for the. Unborn generation, if agriculture can be revived, there will be a drastic reduction in the unemployment in the country.
The era of PDP at saddle of affairs in the last 16 years was a great disservice to our nation because PDP has left the nation far worse than the party met her, this prompted the masses to embrace the change you preached during the course of your campaign, as they say when the opposition wins the masses win.
I am of the opinion that the challenges facing the country facing the country is not insurmountable, Nigerians see you as a beacon of hope, a man capable of bringing the reign of corruption and impunity to an end in our land. The task of tackling the problems bedeviling our nation starts with you surrounding yourself with the people having good intention to the nation, I know you have a good hands in the vice president in the person Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, a seasoned technocrat, I advise you to choose people who are very passionate about the development of the nation, the people who can sacrifice themselves and put the interest of the nation before theirs, this is because your success in the office is a function of the team of people working closely with you.

A major mistake of Dr. Goodluck Jonathan was the fact that he was surrounded by money-mongers who were protecting their selfish interests in their different portfolios and this led to his poor performance in office. Sir,the expectation from you is very high and you cannot afford to fail the masses, the people have given you the mandate to lead them for the next four(4) years but to succeed or fail is your choice, in you they see a man that can bring hope to their state of hopelessness, I advise you sir to run a government that will leave a lasting legacy in the minds of the people, I do not wish
you end up like Julius Nyerere of Tanzania who was not able to live up to expectation while in office. Sir, I know you to be a man that is morally upright and I implore you do to away with anything that can bring that revered name of yours into shame.
I implore you to promote the unity of our dear country, protect the lives and properties of Nigeria and put an end to corruption which has become a monster in our land and make life meaningful for the average man on the street.
As you take over the mantle of leadership on May 29, 2015, I pray God you the wisdom to lead the nation aright. God bless Nigeria. Long live Nigeria.
